I love this, Callie! I know exactly what you mean about buying clothes that look good on other people 😅 this is still such a struggle for me. Figuring out what works on my body type (that seems so different from everyone around me) has been HARD. And also learning yo give myself permission to wear something I like even if it’s not the most flattering thing, but it makes me comfortable. If that makes sense. I’m so curious about how you make your bread! That’s something I’d like to get back to. Also, I’ve been thinking about you and when you did your year off social media. I’ve considered doing that this year because my media habits too are not great and I want to fix that.
Yes! Like the color analysis thing - apparently I own alot of things that aren’t my “best colors”, but I LIKE those colors, so I’ve chosen just to ignore all that. But it’s been good to rediscover what I actually like, and distinguish that from whatever is “in style” this week. I will have to share about my bread! My recipe has to be so finicky because of our altitude, but the process of figuring out what was going to work was interesting! And if you think you should take a year off social media DO IT. I still think it was one of the best things I ever did. It reset so many of my habits, and I was so cautious when I added it back in that a lot of my worst habits I never picked back up. It just gives you new eyes when you’re away from it for an extended period and then come back. I ruthlessly cleaned out my feed. When I find myself scrolling too much now, it’s because there are too many interesting crochet videos on my feed (😂) - and not because I’m being “influenced” to buy something or feeling bad about myself. And the pressure I used to feel to please the Instagram algorithm is gone. I need to just write a whole update post about it - I’ve seen a lot of people on here wanting to give up social media, and I want to encourage everyone to do it, at least for a period of time!
I'd love an update on the social media use! I have my accounts currently deactivated, but I have no idea how long that will last. I typically do 1-2 months at the start of each year, have good habits for awhile, and then eventually fall off the wagon.
